Rate and Review Herndon's Paint & Body

My SUV had been hit on the drivers side which resulted in damage to the front quarter panel and the drivers side door. The other persons insurance was paying due to the accident being their fault. We received an estimate from Mr. Herndon and on the estimate he quoted the price of a BRAND NEW door which happened to be almost $800. The final estimate he gave us for total damage was almost $1800.00. We had turned in the estimate from Mr. Herndon to the insurance company and everything was set for repair of my vehicle which included a BRAND NEW door that Mr. Herndon was being paid for by the insurance company. We were informed by Mr. Herndon that he had ordered a brand new door from Chevrolet and he was waiting on it to come in, not to mention my wife has communication with his wife and she was being told the same by her. We were without our vehicle for almost a week while it was in Herndon’s Body Shop for repair and for what we thought the wait for a BRAND NEW DOOR. Finally it was time for pick up (expecting a new door to have been put on vehicle), I was told to pick up vehicle and the key was left in car. Mr. Herndon was not at his shop when I picked up my vehicle, I was looking over work that was completed and notice a ding in the DOOR (that was suppose to be BRAND NEW) that was there before my vehicle was damaged. I immediately called Mr. Herndon and he wouldn’t answer so I contacted his wife and at that time trying to contact Mr. Herndon and she said she would have him contact me. She claimed to know nothing after she herself informed my wife that Mr. Herndon had ordered a brand new door from Chevrolet and was waiting for it. Mr. Herndon contacted me, I asked him what was going on and why did I have the same door after I was told and the insurance had paid for a BRAND NEW DOOR on my car. At that time, he informed me that he had gotten a door from the junk yard and it was in bad shape so he just reconstructed the old door. I asked him why he quoted the insurance for a brand new door and he had never ordered the door from Chevrolet as we were told. He kind of avoided the question and just stated the he did owe me some money b/c he didn’t get a brand new door. He said that he was going to figure up what it was and let me know. He has not contacted me back and it has been 2 years. Not only do I feel cheated but I feel that his dishonesty was an ultimate defraud of the insurance company who lost money to Mr. Herndon’s deceptive acts and I still do not have a new door on my vehicle. This incident caused me much aggrevation and the fact that my car is still damaged, no response from Mr. Herndon and knowing that I took my vehicle to such a dishonest and deceptive individual just added so much more to it.
